It is the perfect place for touring the beautiful Boyne Valley with its many historical features including Slane Castle , the burial tomb at Newgrange and the Interpretive Center at Donore. It is also the perfect place to visit and tour Dublin with regular buses passing through Slane to Dublin City Center linking to various different city tour operators.

Meath is located 30 miles from Dublin and is home to one of the worlds most famous archeological valleys "Brú na Boinne", the Boyne valley. Here the development of man can be traced back over 9,000 years to neolithic man, with many well preserved sites, buildings and monuments. The "Brú na Boinne", Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth have great stone age megalithic tombs.

Newgrange, probably the most famous is older than the great pyramids of Egypt . At Winter solstice its at its most enchanting as the sun passes through the passage.

The Hill of Slane and Tara Hill are legendary in Irish folklore and St.Patrick. In Kells there is a monastary, home to many artifacts of the eighth and twelfth centuries. One of Irelands most important manuscripts "The Book of Kells" was scribed by monks here. The book is now kept on show at Trinity College , Dublin . Loughcrew cairns offer impressive examples of prehistoric art. The Anglo-Norman Trim Castle is Europes best example of a castle of this period.

Meath is home to a number of racecourses, Fairyhouse home to the Irish Grand National and Laytown Strand races to only races of this type in the country. Slane Castle hosts massive summer concerts and many of the towns have some excellent festivals. Meath has a wide variety of physical and cultural amenities available to the visitor.
